ABOUT THE ARTIST
Atlanta architectural photographer and orchid enthusiast, Robert
Thien, has grown and photographed orchids for fifteen years.
The artist uses his unique lighting style to emphasize the
striking architectural elements of these beautiful flowers.
Robert Thien studied commercial and contemporary photography
at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. In 1986
he moved to New York City to work with nationally acclaimed
photographer Mark Ross. Thien moved to Atlanta in 1991 to launch
his career as an interior and architectural photographer.
After starting his own business, Robert Thien
established working relationships
with Architectural Digest, Interior Design and other national
and international publications.
Elton John’s Atlanta residence, John Mellencamp’s
residences, Mountain Air Country Club and UPS Innoplex are among Thien’s
photography work.
When not working as a professional photographer, Robert
Thien enjoys gardening, home building and design projects,
looking at the moon and spending time with his family.
